. AI Flight Planner: converting WOAI traffic to FSX format.

Jan 11, 2009. I must have hundreds of FS9 traffic files and although I think I converted them all, I see no traffic in Traffic Toolbox/Explorer. Since my scenery drive is very large, AIFP fails with OOM when scanning for FS9 files. If there were a few bytes which were different I could write a program to find my FS9 flightplans.

Hi all,I'm using FSX Acceleration, and I have installed some AI traffic packages from Worl of AI (WOAI).It works perfectly, I have installed some of the major companies from all over the world, in order to see planes flying a little bit everywhere.Recently, I remembered about this bug that disables the boat traffic with FS9-format AI traffic is installed, and I read somewhere that it was possible to convert this FS9 traffic to FSX format. To do so, I used AI Flight Planner (AIFP) by Don Grovestine. This tools allows a very easy and fast convertion. Now, my boats are back on the oceansBut my American airports are empty:isadizzy:I checked again, by removing the FSX traffic and adding the FS9 traffic, Kennedy Intl is pretty busy.

But when I switch back to the FSX traffic, the airport gets completely empty! What did I do wrong? Anybody here has experienced problems with this tool?Perhaps you have some other freeware tool to recommend me?

But when I switch back to the FSX traffic, the airport gets completely empty! What did I do wrong? Anybody here has experienced problems with this tool?Perhaps you have some other freeware tool to recommend me?Good guide here. That bug also effects AI air traffic if you want to use default traffic and WOIA together you will also have to convert the WOIA BGLs to FSX format. At least I did to get everything working.Even though you convert the WoAI and MAIW traffic bgl's to FSX, they still bump the default AI (not that that's entirely a bad thing).

They do not affect my boat and road traffic, just default aircraft AI. For this reason, all my add-on traffic bgl's are in separate files in the add-on scenery library, rather than scenery/world/scenery.

I have separate ones for civilian and GA, and for military traffic. That way, I can disable the add-on traffic which can cause included traffic from Tongass Fjords and some other scenery packages that include AI not to show. The most important thing is that no unconverted FS9 traffic bgl's are active in FSX. Thanks for the answersGavin, it seems to me that I have selected every single FS9 traffic file. The tool will display them anyway, there's a window where you can flag them, and the files that are already in FSX format are not displayed.I'm thinking that perhaps there are some other FS9 traffic files in the other folders, like somewhere in addon sceneries?I didn't know that FS9 traffic files would disable also the FSX air traffic. I mean, I have disabled the default FSX traffic anyway, but I thought that even with FS9 traffic aside, additionnal FSX traffic would work normally.

I though only the boat traffic was affected by this bug. This is interesting, it seems that I'll have to go through my addon sceneries, hunting for FS9 traffic there. Thanks for the info:salute.

The link to Mr. Stone's site mentions something interesting, namely about textures. I ran into the same problem with my own creations, e.g., any parts not assigned a texture will simply show up as black. Revamping my own (single) project for use in FSX has been a work-in-progress since FSX was released; although mine involves a thorough re-tweaking, I can not imagine having to modify a large number of projects to get them all to display properly, as had been mentioned in the above-noted link. That, plus the landing-light issue (which I am still stuggling to figure out), brings to mind 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

I am impressed with the features FSX has and the promise it offers, but it just seems overly complicated as to the changes that have been made that will need to be taken into consideration by developers. Torad wrote:I was trying to get FS2004 planes to FSX and all are funkcioning well, except gauges. So i'm replacing it with defalut FSX gauges in panel.cfg.

But now i need some specialized one. So i loked into SDK (i'm not from english speking country), but don't understand it so well to be able to convert it. Can somebody help me?I can't help you with the SDK - way too complicated for a simple mind like mineWhile you are waiting for someone who actually knows how to use the SDK to come along, you could always simply alias some of the default panels to your imported aircraft.

Example: for the MD-11s or The DC-10s I use the default 737 0r 777 panels. Obviously for small GA aircraft you would be looking at the default Beech Baron -King Air etc.The beauty about this is that you don't have to mess with gauges. If the panel you've aliased doesn't work to your satisfaction, change the 'alias' to another 'alias'. For example Posky A330.

It is allready done with in version for FSX, with defalut panel on A321. So i downloaded VC model and gauges. After that i was playing for log time with panel.cfg and finaly i replaced all of these gauges with FSX defalut. But i can change only type of it, and A330 has very comlicated VC definition.

So for example when i wand to change smth in autopilot, i must turn on main panel. After all it's still beter to fly on VC.

If you want i can send you a screenshot. I'm not sure if I understand you or if I understand the connection/interaction between VC and 2D completely.I always thought that if you use a gauge or switch in a clickable VC it would relay the command to the 2D. So, if you use an fs9 VC, it wouldn't possibly be able to access a current (non-XML) gauge for FSX, considering that the VC is an integrated part of the model. But I'm willing to learn in case I've got it all wrong.Yes Torad, post a screenshot or two or three - might help us to see what you've come up with.
